What is the process for installing an EV charger on my property?
Once you decide to install an EV charger, we will assess your site to determine the best setup. Our certified experts will handle the installation, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Post-installation, we help you configure your pricing and payment settings.
Do I need special permits or licenses to install an EV charger?
Local regulations may require permits for EV charger installations. Our team will guide you through the permitting process and ensure that your installation complies with local laws and building codes.
How much does it cost to install an EV charger?
Installation costs depend on factors like the type of charger, site electrical capacity, and installation complexity. We'll provide a detailed estimate after a site survey along with two unique packages tailored to your requirements. You can choose between these two unique packages, both designed to optimally suit the different needs of your workflow. In case they do not suffice, we will create a separate customized package for you.
Does el-monde install Level 2 Chargers?
Yes. El-monde directly or mostly via partners install Level 2 chargers, which are the most common solution for home charging. We install smart charging options from reputed and commonly known brands like Wallbox and Autel.

I already have an EV Charger, how can I onboard it to el-monde network?
Yes, el-monde makes it very easy for you to integrate standard OCPP compliant chargers to the network.
To connect your charger(s) with us, we recommend the following steps:
- Download the el-monde app, register and choose the Yes option at the question Are you a host.
- Select Add new charger and then confirm the basic and location details.
- As a final step you need to integrate the OCPP link generated in the 3rd step of your Host a Charger Widget on the platform.
- You have to open your Charger's manufacturing app or web browser based firmware and integrate this link there. If you are unsure of the steps, check our In-app chat or email us for technical support. OCPP is recently getting standardized but older chargers have some idiosyncrasies which we are aware of and can guide you for a smoother experience.
- The app will try to establish a connection. Attention! This may take a few minutes.
- Congratulations! You have successfully completed the connection. You can now test and start earning money with your charger!In reality
Can I onboard multiple chargers?
Yes, you can onboard multiple chargers. In the Chargers section of our app you can get an overview of your chargers and add more by selecting Add New Charger. You can also add photos of your charger(s), its location or other details that you consider relevant to enhance the driver experience.
Can I integrate my EV charger with renewable energy sources like solar panels?
Absolutely. Our chargers are compatible with renewable energy systems. If you have a solar panel setup, we can integrate your EV charger to maximize the use of clean energy for vehicle charging.

How do I find and use an EV charger?
You can locate available chargers using our mobile app. Once you find a charger, you can reserve it (if the feature is enabled), plug in your vehicle, and start the session through the app. Payment is processed automatically when the session ends.
How much does it cost to charge my EV?
The cost of charging depends on the rate set by the charger owner. The price per kWh, per hour, or per session will be displayed in the app before you start charging, so you’ll know the cost upfront.
What payment methods are accepted for charging?
We accept all major credit and debit cards. You can also link a digital wallet to your account for faster payments. You can also add a new payment method. Once your payment method is set up, charging sessions are billed automatically
Can I see how much energy my EV is using while charging?
Yes, our app shows real-time charging data, including the amount of energy consumed (kWh) and the cost of the current session. You can track the progress of your charge and see an estimated completion time.
How do I know if a charger is available or in use?
The app provides live availability status for all chargers. Green pins indicate available chargers, orange icons show those currently in use and red ones indicate unavailable chargers. Some chargers may also offer the option to reserve a spot in advance.
What should I do if the charger isn’t working properly?
If you encounter a problem with a charger, you can report the issue directly through the app. We’ll notify the charger owner and dispatch a maintenance team if needed. You won’t be charged for failed charging attempts.
Can I cancel a charging session once it has started?
Yes, you can stop a charging session at any time through the app. However, please note that some chargers may have a minimum session fee or charge for partial usage.
Can I charge my EV overnight?
Yes, you can charge overnight if the charger allows it. Make sure to check the charger’s availability and any time restrictions in the app. You can contact the owner via the contact details: you will find all information by clicking on the charger’s icon on the map.
Please note that some locations may have hourly limits or higher rates during certain times.
How can I see my charging history and payments?
Your charging history, including all past sessions, energy usage, and payments, is stored in the app under your account. You can review, download, or print these records for reference or billing purposes. Please note that at the end of each session you can download the receipt.

How are charging sessions billed?
Charging sessions are billed automatically once the session ends. Once you have clicked on the stop charging option, a screen with the following information will appear: Transaction ID, Consumption, Charging Cost, Total Amount. The Total Amount is calculated based on the time spent charging, the amount of energy used (kWh), and the rate set by the charger owner.Can I get an invoice for my charging sessions?
Yes, all sessions are logged in your account, and you can generate invoices or download receipts directly from the app. El-monde is one of the only apps that let you separately log charging sessions as personal or business expense on respective wallets. This is to help you download the correct records that can be used for any professional reimbursement or tax purposes.
Can I have separate personal and business sessions?
Yes, El-Monde uniquely offers you the convenience to separate your charging expenses into personal and business wallet for convenience of accounting. You can use these auto-sorted lists for any tax, business reimbursement purposes. Just import the files into the right software and you don't have to waste time manually sorting anymore!
What if there’s an issue with my billing?
El-monde follows highly regulated and standardized OCCP compliance methodology for measuring the charging time and total amount. However sometimes mechanical malfunction - deliberate or mostly by error -can happen leading to different billing amounts.
If you notice any discrepancies in your bill, you can contact our support team directly through the app, through our helpdesk, or via email. We will investigate the issue and resolve any billing errors promptly.
However it is important to note that el-monde does not set the pricing and charger owners have the flexibility to set prices. So kindly pay attention to the pricing of the charging session before starting to charge to ensure that your expectation matches the outcome in a reasonable manner.
Are there any hidden fees?
No there are no hidden fees. You pay the charging amount and minor transaction fees for the monetary transfer. All applicable charges will be clearly displayed before or after your charging session.
